Students,

I have worked hard to ensure that we have technology to learn this year. Three computers in our classroom and computer lab time make it possible for us to run our own blogs.

 In addition, I have created this blog NSS213, which stands for our classroom number, of course. I have other websites, including eighthgraderocks.weebly.com , which you can check out if you'd like. It is really more for other teachers to see what I do, but it is still cool, if I do say so myself.

My goal for you: I want writing to be purposeful for you. I want you to understand the reasons why we write and I want you to use writing to express yourself.

I considered making you all write and run two blogs. Instead I will ask that you COMMENT and discuss posts on this blog and that you run one of your own. The rules for your ongoing blog assignment are not yet set. I want to talk about it with you.

I want you to have power in your own education. I don't want to tell you what to do all the time. I want you to explore, to learn because it's an awesome thing to do.
